Cyber 4.0 is the National Highly Specialized Competence Center for Cybersecurity, established and co-funded by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT). Launched within the Industry 4.0 framework, the Center is now recognized as Italy’s national technology transfer hub and serves as the implementing body of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) on behalf of MIMIT. Cyber 4.0 is a private-law association built on a broad public–private partnership that reflects the entire national cybersecurity ecosystem. It comprises more than 40 key national players, including universities, research bodies, public institutions, major companies, foundations, and highly specialized SMEs. The Center offers advisory, training, assessment, and "test-before-investment" services in cybersecurity to companies and public administrations. It also funds research and innovation projects, both as part of its core activities and within specific vertical sectors: Healthcare, Automotive, and Aerospace.
