The Czech Republic has officially become the fourteenth member state of the Tallinn Mechanism - an international initiative that helps Ukraine enhance its cyber resilience and digital security.
Czechia’s full membership is a logical next step after its involvement in the Tallinn Mechanism as an observer in 2025 and reflects its continued cooperation with Ukraine in digital and cybersecurity fields.
The Tallinn Mechanism was launched in 2023 as an international response to escalating cyber threats and russia’s ongoing aggression in cyberspace. Its core objective is to strengthen Ukraine’s cyber resilience by ensuring effective coordination of international support in the cybersecurity.
Within the framework of the Tallinn Mechanism, dozens of initiatives were implemented - from cybersecurity assessments of critical infrastructure to capacity-building programmes and training projects.
Current member states of the Tallinn Mechanism include Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States - and now the Czech Republic. The European Union, NATO, and the World Bank participate as official observers.
Activities in Ukraine are supported by the Tallinn Mechanism Project Office (TMPO), based in Kyiv. Established at the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, TMPO works closely with the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre.
TMPO is currently funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, and EU CyberNet.
We thank all partners for their continued support of Ukraine’s cyber resilience, and welcome Czechia to the Tallinn Mechanism’s team!
