The Federal Foreign Office of Germany, in partnership with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Tallinn Mechanism Project Office (TMPO), held a webinar for members of the Bitkom business association.
Bitkom represents more than 2,300 companies from across Germany - from SMEs to large publicly listed corporations, including companies listed in the DAX.
The webinar aimed to introduce German cybersecurity companies to the Tallinn Mechanism and highlight opportunities for international cooperation available through the Tallinn Mechanism Platform.
More than 50 German IT and cyber companies joined the session. This strong participation reflects growing interest from the German private sector in working with Ukraine and engaging under the framework of the Tallinn Mechanism.
The webinar opened with remarks from Amelie Klußmann, Head of the Division Defense and Security Policy, Federal Foreign Office of Germany. She highlighted the crucial importance of strengthening cybersecurity for European countries, including Germany. She also underlined that Ukraine has gained unique, practical experience in cyber defense. This expertise is increasingly relevant for international partners. At the same time, she stressed the need to deepen cooperation with the private sector. Ukrainian and German companies can build partnerships based on mutual benefit, combining operational experience with business development and access to EU markets.
Tetjana Wenzel, Policy Advisor in the Global Project „Partnership for Strengthening Cybersecurity”, GIZ, spoke about Germany’s role within the Tallinn Mechanism and highlighted efforts to expand public-private cooperation under this framework. She emphasized the importance of building sustainable partnerships between Ukrainian and German companies in the cybersecurity domain.
Olesya Danylchenko, Head of TMPO, presented the key priorities and current activities of the Tallinn Mechanism relevant to cybersecurity companies.
Kseniia Bulhakova, Manager for Donors and Private Sector Engagement at TMPO, introduced the Tallinn Mechanism Platform. She explained how companies can register and access partnership opportunities.
Participants also received clear guidance on the registration process on the platform, along with practical advice on how to join and start cooperation.
The webinar marked another step in strengthening cooperation between Ukrainian and German stakeholders and fostering new partnerships in the field of cybersecurity under the Tallinn Mechanism.
